The team that you will join provides reliable financial and management information, laying the foundation for and driving important business decisions. There are two focus areas: Financial accounting and Project & Control. Currently the team consists of 8 employees based in Amsterdam, Brno and Helsinki, who are responsible for all accounting, controlling and (regulatory) reporting.

Key responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant you will contribute to the future growth of this department.
The organization has grown rapidly, both autonomously and via acquisitions, and currently consists of multiple entities / ledgers, located in the Netherlands, Czech, Spain and the US.
Furthermore, this year IFRS standards will be adopted. All accounting is done by means of Exact Online, combined with BaseCone, Declaree and Speedbooks.

What you'll be really doing

Build and grow the department towards further professionalization covering all company's group entities / locations (Amsterdam, Brno, Helsinki, Madrid, Buenos Aires and LA).
Lead and assist with the financial month and year end closing processes, also preparing the company for further and project specific reporting (KPI based)
Support preparation of audited annual accounts (IFRS compliance)
Prepare (financial) information, analyses and reconciliations (regular and ad hoc)
Drive the annual budgeting cycle (per department) and contribute to Project Control
Create a reliable financial basis for Project & Control and support where necessary/possible
Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded, filed and reported correctly
Timely and accurate preparation of VAT returns
Monitor and manage specific account balances, in all entities, in all countries
Making (incidental) wire transfers, (review) monthly bank entries
Prepare and maintain accounting policies and procedures (IFRS)
Answer questions and assist other departments on financial and accounting matters
Support the CFO and Executive Board with projects and tasks
Suggest and introduce improvements in our processes through automation and simplification

What we are looking for

We are looking for a self-motivated, hands on, curious, communicative, hardworking and reliable person. If you commit yourself to something, you deliver it and the result is awesome. Furthermore:
A solid background (bachelor or master) in Finance, Accounting or Economics
4+ years of experience in a similar position and/or accounting firm
Excellent knowledge of Excel
Knowledge of financial systems including Exact Online and Speedbooks is a plus
Great communication and written skills in Czech and English (Dutch and/or Spanish is a plus)
Bonus points: IFRS experience, a sense of humor
